Flower Celebration

Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Centre County, 780 Waupelani Dr, State College, PA

Solo performance. I'll be playing three songs: one at the beginning, one in the middle, and one at the end. Description lifted from an email exchange with my UU contact: "Sunday June 4 is our annual Flower Celebration. In this ceremony, everyone in the congregation brings a flower. Each person places a flower on the altar or in a shared vase. The congregation and minister bless the flowers, and they're redistributed. Each person brings home a different flower than the one they brought. The ceremony originated in what was formerly Czechoslovakia in 1923, so this is the centennial anniversary." And from the minister, Rev. Tracy Sprowls, "'It was a church that was willing to take risks; to make tough decisions; to bear disappointment; and to build a new way…first by building a church, and that church could build up the world.' (Words by Teresa Schwartz, David Schwartz) Please bring a fresh flower to share for our Flower Celebration!"
